In the midst of His darkness He cried out “My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?” Surely, as His followers we should not expect nor should want to avoid entering His sufferings with Him. Our Savior Himself, the Servant we obey, walked down the dark path of Calvary in obedience to His Father.

The truth is people who fear God and obey him may find themselves walking down a path that they can’t see into a future they don’t understand. God is looking for people who can walk in darkness. There are days when it seems that God is absent and we are shrouded in darkness. There are times when even the most God fearing and obedient Christians go through spiritual valleys. It also could mean loneliness, keeping to oneself or hiding from people. Obscurity in a dream means the darkness of one’s heart or blindness. Thus, walking into a dark place in a dream means being unjust. Isn’t it true that if a person has Christ they have the Light? Isn’t the Word of God a “lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path?” The answer to both questions is yes.īut there is this other side of following Christ we need to acknowledge. Darkness in a dream also represents an oppressor. We know we should fear the Lord and obey Him, but we might find the idea of walking in darkness without so much as a spark of light to be out of place.
